Starsand Island Patch Notes & Update History (1.08.3916)

Starsand Island’s latest update is Version 1.08.3916, released on PC on August 20, 2026 — the first patch after the 1.0 launch on August 18. Below is the full version history in reverse order, from that patch back through the Early Access 0.x builds that shipped between February and July 2026, with the substantive changes of each version condensed from the developer’s own notes. The end of the page covers how often updates arrive, the PC-first / consoles-later rule, and where the next patch will be announced first.

Everything here is drawn from the developer’s Steam announcements. There is no stand-alone 1.0 patch note in that feed — the launch content was revealed in the July 31 date announcement and the August 15–17 countdown posts, which the 1.0 section summarises.

Version 1.08.3916 — August 20, 2026 (latest)

PC first; console rollout pending certification as of August 23.

Optimization

  • Multiplayer Coins can now be earned while playing alone, as long as multiplayer is enabled — you no longer need guests present to accrue points for the Multiplayer Shop.

Multiplayer fixes (4)

  • The multiplayer entrance now unlocks correctly after finishing the “Smooth Sailing” stage quest.
  • Guests using a crafting station no longer occasionally receive the previously crafted item instead of the new one.
  • Host status no longer desyncs while riding certain vehicles.
  • Guests can use the changing room in the clothing store again.

General fixes (16) — the notable ones:

  • A save-loading hang that blocked entry into the game.
  • Home-area wall-excavation visuals breaking after loading a modded save.
  • Logging Robot failing to reappear after a teleport; Barista NPC not rendering in some scenes.
  • Wrong stack counts and preview info when opening items in bulk with a full inventory.
  • Stone Fish Pond missing from the Codex; a missing floor piece in the contest blueprint “Resort Town”.
  • Hoverboard state not resetting after jumps; doors not interactable while holding the Firefly Handheld Lamp or Koi Lantern.
  • Vehicles placeable underwater in rivers; characters clipping through walls when jumping vehicles onto DIY floors.
  • Wrong Pufferfish count shown in the “Become a Senior Angler!” quest.

Version 1.0 — August 18, 2026

Launched at 5:00 AM PDT on Steam, Microsoft Store/Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and Switch 2 with a limited-time discount. Headline content, as revealed July 31 and August 15–17:

  • Online multiplayer for up to four players on a host-island model: three access modes (Anyone Can Join / Request to Join / Password Required), per-resource guest permissions (crops, livestock, fishing, crafting, other), Multiplayer Coins and a Multiplayer Shop. No crossplay; saves are not shared. Full detail on the multiplayer guide.
  • 3-Heart Relationship Stories — reach 3 hearts with an NPC, then check the mailbox the next day or revisit a familiar spot for a letter or quest. Early Access saves already at 3 hearts unlock them immediately.

  • Community blueprints — 20+ Gold and Theme Award layouts from the spring “Island Life” contest added to the Blueprint Library; 40+ Silver/Bronze entries promised in later updates.
  • Console-specific notes: Switch 2 hosts must use Password Required; PC is patched first, consoles after certification.

Version 0.7.7575 — July 2, 2026

Update cadence, and PC before consoles

  • Early Access pace: 40+ numbered builds in about five months — several per week in February and March, roughly weekly from April, with one big monthly feature drop (March shop/outfits, April dating, May Mod Manager, June Workshop) matching the February 13 roadmap.
  • Post-1.0: one patch in the first five days (1.08.3916); the developer says fixes and content will continue, with notes for every update.
  • PC first, consoles later. Stated on August 17: PC updates first; PS5, Xbox and Switch 2 follow each platform’s review process. “Update today” on a console usually means a PC patch that has not cleared certification yet. Platform pages: Switch 2, PS5, Xbox.
  • Version numbering: the middle digit tracks the month (0.2 = Feb … 0.7 = Jul); the trailing digits are build numbers, so they do not always increase across months.

How to know when the next update lands

  1. The game’s Steam news feed (Community Announcements) is where every patch note has appeared, usually the same day.
  2. The official Discord and X account repost them; bug reports go via Discord.
  3. Console patch notes will be posted after each console rollout — same feed.
  4. This page is revised when a new version is confirmed; the date at the bottom is the last check.

What is the latest Starsand Island update?

Version 1.08.3916, released on PC on August 20, 2026. It adds single-player Multiplayer Coin earning, four multiplayer fixes and 16 general fixes. Console rollout dates were not yet announced as of August 23.

What did the 1.0 update add?

When is the next Starsand Island update?

Not announced. During Early Access patches arrived roughly weekly; the developer has committed to continued fixes and content after 1.0 with notes for each. Check the Steam news feed first.
