Starsand Island is a seaside life-simulation game by Seed Sparkle Lab: you return to your childhood island, restore a homestead, and mix farming, ranching, fishing, crafting and exploration with a cast of voiced islanders, 14 of whom can be romanced. It entered Steam Early Access on February 11, 2026 and launched version 1.0 on August 18, 2026.

The official title is Starsand Island (one word, then 'Island'). 'Star sand island', 'starsandisland' and 'Starsands Island' are common misspellings that all point to the same game — the Chinese title is 星砂岛 and the Japanese title is スターサンドアイランド.

Yes, since 1.0: online co-op for up to four players on a host's island (join modes: Anyone, Request or Password). There is no crossplay between platforms, and your own island progress stays separate when you visit a friend.

There is no official statement that the game uses generative AI and its Steam page carries no AI-content disclosure. The association comes from a February 2026 wave of suspected AI-written fake positive Steam reviews (which the developer disowned) and community speculation about the art; the April 2026 Steam delisting was about unauthorised visual elements in a mini-game, not AI. No. The in-game Redeem Gift menu exists, but as of August 23, 2026 no public promo code has ever been released — every code tracker and the developer's own announcements agree. Kickstarter backers received private, one-per-person codes by email after launch; those are not public codes.

There is no wedding or children system. The final relationship step is reaching five hearts with one of the 14 romanceable NPCs and choosing Move In, which lets them live at your homestead. Any player gender can romance any of the 14, and you can raise several characters to five hearts.
