Starsand Island Energy Converter & Every Machine Explained
If you are here for the Energy Converter: buy the blueprint from Zerine’s General Store (3,000g, shown once you hold Intermediate Crafter certification), craft it at Worktable II with 4 Alloy + 3 Magnet + 2 Starflare Core + 3 Gear + 2 Prism, and use it to turn crystals and wire into Solid-State Battery → Mini Reactor → Perpetual Reactor. Those three parts are the real gate to late-game Starsand Island — Worktable III, Furnace III, sprinklers, the Jet Ski, teleporters and every robot need them. The rest of this page walks through each machine players search for, with a master table first.
Prices, ranks and recipes come from machine and crafting data that already carries Version 1.0 strings, cross-checked against shop pages; shop-visibility notes are Early Access player reports and may have shifted since August 18, 2026.

Worktable I, II and III
Worktable I stands outside your cabin from day one. Worktable II is an upgrade, not a separate build: buy the 200g blueprint at Junior Crafter rank and upgrade the existing table with 3 Iron Ingot, 2 Softwood Plank and 3 Glass Pane — you do not need a Worktable II to make one, a frequent Reddit question. Worktable III needs Senior Crafter rank (1,100g) plus a Mini Reactor; players who “can’t find the Worktable 3 blueprint” are usually one certification short.
Energy Converter, Mini Reactor and Perpetual Reactor
The converter’s three outputs and their inputs:
| Output | Inputs | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Solid-State Battery | Radiant Crystal 1 + Tin Ingot 2 + Iron Sheet 1 | Early powered items |
| Mini Reactor | Starflare Crystal 1 + Magnet 2 + High-Performance Wire Set 2 | Worktable III, Furnace III, Sprinkler II, Auto Fertilizer Box, Jet Ski (×4) |
| Perpetual Reactor | Lunar Crystal 1 + Diamond 2 + High-Performance Wire Set 2 + Magnet 2 | Teleporter, Robot Terminal, Sprinkler III, Starsand Grinder |
The Crafter quest “Master of Adventure” asks you to build the converter. In early Early Access the blueprint sometimes did not show in the shop list and players bought it by talking to Zerine directly; patch 0.3.3595 (March 12, 2026) added a purchase reminder to the quest. Whether the quirk survives 1.0 is unconfirmed. Starflare Core comes from Primorite Ore (Furnace II), Lunar Crystal from Moonstone via Furnace III and the Gear Smith — see ore locations.
Jam Maker (blueprint and recipes)
The Jam Maker blueprint is a Happiness Seed Shop item at Junior Farmer rank, 1,200g, built at Worktable I (Iron Sheet 5 + Glass Pane 4 + Radiant Core 2 + Gear 3). Every jam follows one pattern — 2 fruit + 3 Sugar → 1 jam — across 17 fruits (apple, banana, cherry tomato, watermelon, star mango, aloe vera and more). A long-running Steam guide measured jam at roughly 1.4–1.5× raw fruit value; sugar is the bottleneck, so Sugarcane (5 Sugar per stalk in the Separator) beats Beetroot. Money math is on the money-making guide.
Juicer
Aureleaf Kitchen sells the Juicer for 550g; build it at Worktable I (Glass Pane 3 + Copper Sheet 3 + Softwood Plank 4). Outputs include Golden Lemonade, Bayberry Smoothie and Red/Green Grape Juice (a stackable mining-yield buff). Sources disagree on its worth: the Steam measurement puts the markup near 1.1×, while a Reddit spreadsheet argues Golden Lemonade and Bayberry Smoothie out-earn jam per hour. Both can be true — one measures markup, the other throughput.
Waterwheel and the Waterwheel Bearing
The Waterwheel is not crafted. It is a Moonlit Forest landmark around Harvest Yard, and repairing it is the “Become a Senior Explorer” quest: Zephyria hands you a Waterwheel Bearing, you find two spirits (players describe popping spirit bubbles), supply mined materials, and the Harvest Yard camp opens. Crossing the gap first needs a Water Arrow bridge or a pulley-shoe jump. The “Cave below Waterwheel” is where Oilstone begins. Route details: Moonlit Forest map page.
Universal Remote Control
A furniture piece, not a tool: the General Store’s “Other” tab sells it finished for 130g, or craft it from one Copper Ingot at Worktable I. It operates TVs and similar furniture; there is essentially no community discussion beyond that.
Gacha Machine (what it is)
The gacha machines live in Chrono Arcade in Maple Reed. You get 10 Tokens free, then 10g buys 80; each pull costs 20 Tokens. Five coloured Gachapon machines share one pool according to players. Wishful Heart Cookies raise the rare-furniture rate; the removed Starblock minigame’s rewards were folded in (0.5.1822). A separate Serena Gacha Ticket machine outside the furniture shop dispenses seasonal furniture, and the Island Life milestone “Animal Buddy” asks for 10 pulls. “Is Starsand Island a gacha game” is a different question — it is a one-purchase game with no gacha monetisation.
Quick Shipping Box and Mailbox
The Quick Shipping Box (General Store, Junior Crafter, 2,500g; Iron Sheet 5 + Radiant Crystal 2 + Hardwood Plank 5 + Gear 3) lets you sell from home; before it you sell to shop NPCs or the Merchant Ship. The Mailbox blueprint comes from Lex Woodworks during the Returning Resident stage and costs 5 Softwood. It receives letters, NPC gift mail, purchases that did not fit in your bag, and — since 1.0 — the 3-Heart Relationship Story letters.
Ore Analyzer, Feeder and the small stations
- Ore Analyzer (650g; Hardwood 8 + Copper Sheet 2): feeds on Ore Chunks and spits out hidden items including Spirit Cube Fragments, Magnetite and the Ancient Precision Part. Players run several in parallel.
- Feeder (Apprentice Rancher blueprint): besides animal feed it makes Royal Jelly (1 Egg + 5 Honey → 3), the food for a Queen Bee.
- Charcoal Kiln (10g): Softwood 1 + Fiber 2 → 2 Charcoal; also Fine Salt, Rubber (Oilstone 4 + Fiber 3) and Glue.
- Spinning Wheel / Loom: Carbon Line (Fiber 4 + Charcoal 1), Fishing Line (Carbon Line 4), Leather (Fur 2 → 1). Machine data lists them at the General Store for about 200g/350g, while the Carbon Line item text says “Available at the Boutique” — check both shops.
- Chopper I/II/III (AquaBlue): bait and fish food; see the fishing guide.
Greenhouse
Not a worktable build. Buy the Greenhouse Building Manual at the Happiness Seed Shop (65,000g, Expert Farmer), then place it from Build Mode → Production → Farming. One Reddit comment from March 2026 reports the starting build at 66 Glass + 44 Alloy, with more Alloy per extension — single source, treat as reported. It is four tiles wide and only extends lengthwise; placing two side by side merges them; till the soil before placing because the middle column cannot be tilled afterwards. It grows anything in any season but does not stop weeds, bugs, snails or frost. Most late-game players call it optional once the Expert Farmer all-season perk is unlocked. More on the farming guide.
Crafting parts people search for
- Ancient Precision Part — “Key Item” with a chance from analysing any Ore Chunk; sells for 6g; players end up with hundreds spare.
- Carbon Line — Spinning Wheel, Fiber 4 + Charcoal 1; the Fishing Net needs 30.
- Fine Salt — Charcoal Kiln, Salt Brick 4 + Fiber 2; required for the Spring Festival Clam Soup.
- Iridescent Sand — Gear Smith, Iron Ingot 3 → 1.
- Radiant / Lunar / Starflare Crystal — Gear Smith, 3 cores → 1 crystal.
- Spirit Cube I–III — Worktable II/III from fragments, Bronze, Magnet, Alloy; needs Intermediate Crafter certification.
Full source chains are on ore locations and wood and plant resources.
Machine tips from player reports
Machines cannot be sped up — the answer to slow jam is more Jam Makers. Real time keeps ticking while a machine’s window is open. A crafting queue arrived in the 0.6.x updates (June 2026), and 1.08.3916 (August 20, 2026) fixed multiplayer guests occasionally receiving the previously crafted item.
Where do I buy the Energy Converter?
Zerine’s General Store, 3,000g, listed at Intermediate Crafter rank; if it does not appear, talk to Zerine directly — the Master of Adventure quest now reminds you to buy it.
What is the Mini Reactor used for?
Worktable III, Furnace III, Sprinkler II, the Auto Fertilizer Box and the Jet Ski (which takes four).
How do I get a Jam Maker?
Happiness Seed Shop, 1,200g, after Junior Farmer certification; craft it at Worktable I.
What is the gacha machine for?
Arcade furniture pulls with Tokens (10g = 80 Tokens, 20 per pull) in Chrono Arcade; cookies raise rare odds.
