Starsand Island DLC & Editions: Prices, Deluxe, Free Packs

Starsand Island’s DLC line-up is short and mostly free. As of August 23, 2026 there are six entries attached to the Steam app: four cost nothing, one costs $0.99, and one — the Classic European pack — costs $19.99 and is the entire difference between the Standard and Deluxe editions. This page lists every pack with its content and how you get it, explains the confusingly named “Gratitude Gift Pack”, walks through the Deluxe bundles on each platform, and records the Early Access pricing history for anyone wondering whether they missed a cheaper deal.

Base-game prices by platform are on the release date and platforms page.

PlayStation’s store lists the same cosmetic packs with the same free/paid split (Chinese New Year, Shining Star and Ribbit free; Classical $19.99). The Modkit is a PC tool and does not exist on consoles.

”Gratitude Gift Pack” vs “Ribbit Holiday DLC”

Searches for a “gratitude gift pack” confuse people because the name does not appear on the Steam DLC list. Here is the reconciliation: on February 15, 2026 the developer’s update log announced a free “Gratitude Gift Pack DLC” containing a Yellow Swimsuit Theme Set and a Pink Frog Pajama Set, downloadable from the Steam store page that day. The Steam DLC created on that same date is “Starsand Island: Ribbit Holiday DLC”, described as a supporter pack containing the Sunny Splash swimsuit and Frog Onesie pajamas. Same date, same two item types, same free price — the two names describe one pack, with the announcement using descriptive names and the store using the final item names. It is not a redeem code and never required one; you claim it from the store like any free DLC. The separate question of whether any public redeem codes exist (answer: none) is handled on the codes page.

Deluxe edition: what you actually get

“Deluxe” means one thing on every platform: base game + the Classic European pack (Classical furniture, Elegant Formal outfits, Pumpkin Carriage). Nothing else is exclusive to it.

StoreDeluxe priceNotes
Steam (Deluxe Bundle)$59.98 list; about $46.78 at the current ~13% bundle discountBundle of game + Classic European DLC; you can also buy the DLC alone for $19.99
PlayStation 5 (Deluxe Bundle)$59.99; $49.19 during the launch promotionGame + “Classical Furniture, Outfit & Vehicle DLC”
Xbox / Microsoft Store$59.99Same content
Switch 2Not separately listed in our sources; the DLC is available on-platform

A practical note from the March 6, 2026 patch: owning the Deluxe DLC now automatically activates the Chinese-style (Chinese New Year) DLC content as well, so Deluxe owners do not need to claim that free pack separately.

Steam additionally sells two cross-game bundles — “Doloc Town & Starsand Island” and “Starsand Island X Tales of Seikyu” — which are publisher-style discounts, not editions.

Shining Star: the compensation pack

On April 10, 2026 the Steam page was temporarily delisted after the developer acknowledged unauthorized use of visual elements from a classic title inside a mini-game. The announcement promised every player a free “Shining Star” outfit set within seven business days; the DLC went live on April 24, 2026. It is free to anyone, not just players who owned the game in April. The full story is on the controversy explainer.

Early Access pricing history

If you are checking whether the game was ever cheaper:

  • Pre-launch announcement (Feb 2, 2026): Standard EA $27.93 (from “$39.90”) and Deluxe EA $41.93 (from “$59.90”) — the announcement’s list prices were ten cents off the actual Steam prices of $39.99 / $59.99.
  • Feb 11, 2026: Early Access launched at 30% off.
  • Feb 26, 2026: After Steam’s 14-day discount window, the studio created an Early Access Discount Bundle at $28.68 (base game + the seven Sylvan Cabin furniture pieces and blueprints) and kept it at that price for the rest of Early Access. The furniture was then split out as the $0.99 Forest Cabin DLC.
  • Aug 18, 2026 (1.0): Price returned to $39.99 with an introductory 20% discount ($31.99) until September 1 on Steam; PlayStation and Nintendo run their 20% promos until September 14.

So the cheapest the base game has ever been on Steam is roughly $28 during Early Access; the 1.0 launch price of $31.99 is the second-cheapest.

Microtransactions: the short answer

The developer stated on February 12, 2026 that the game has no in-game purchase system, and the producer said the same pre-launch. What exists is the paid cosmetic DLC above. Nintendo’s store shows an “In-Game Purchases” ESRB interactive-elements label, which in this case refers to DLC available through the eShop, not to a currency shop inside the game. Press noted in February 2026 that the $20 cosmetic pack annoyed some Kickstarter backers — context for that is on the developer page.

Was any DLC added with 1.0?

No new DLC shipped with Version 1.0. What 1.0 added was free content in the base game: multiplayer, 3-heart relationship stories, expanded dating activities for all 14 romanceable NPCs, the Autumn Pumpkin Festival, and 20+ community blueprints in the Blueprint Library. The producer has talked about future paid DLC with additional romance characters, but nothing is announced. Track additions on the patch notes page.

How much is Starsand Island’s DLC?

Four packs are free (Chinese New Year, Ribbit Holiday, Shining Star, Modkit), the Forest Cabin furniture pack is $0.99, and the Classic European furniture/outfit/carriage pack is $19.99.

What is in the Starsand Island Deluxe edition?

The base game plus the Classic European pack: a Classical furniture set, the Elegant Formal outfit set and the Pumpkin Carriage vehicle. On PS5/Xbox it is $59.99; on Steam the equivalent bundle lists at $59.98.

What is the Gratitude Gift Pack?

The free swimsuit-and-frog-pajamas pack announced on February 15, 2026 — listed on Steam as “Ribbit Holiday DLC”. You claim it from the store page; no code is involved.

Is the Chinese New Year DLC really free?

Yes, but it is quest-gated: after adding it to your library, you unlock the items in-game by finishing the main quest “Return to the Cabin in the Woods” and accepting the follow-up quest.
