Starsand Island Best Way to Make Money: Early to 500k a Day
The best way to make money in Starsand Island changes three times: in the first week you sell raw goods and do requests, in the mid-game you multiply value with machines and the Merchant Ship, and in the late game you stop selling raw crops altogether and farm the two 598g paddy crops under a bee boost. This page lays those stages out, gives the sell-price comparison people ask for, and answers the “money glitch” question honestly.
Value multipliers and prices below were measured by Early Access players (mostly February–April 2026) and pulled from the game’s item data, which includes Version 1.0 strings; we have not yet seen a 1.0-specific money guide, so treat the stage plan as Early Access consensus pending re-checks.
Where you can sell
| Channel | How it works | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Shop NPCs | Sell directly to any shopkeeper | Available from day one |
| Quick Shipping Box | Place at home, sells items instantly | Blueprint 2,500g at Zerine’s (Junior Crafter tier); until then you sell in person |
| Merchant Ship | Docks after Starsand Port is built; a demand list refreshes every Monday | Buys listed items at about 2× value, limited quantities (sources phrase it as “200% of value” vs “200% more” — read it as roughly double) |
| Bulletin board | Daily requests | Early guides report a 1,500–2,000g daily ceiling that rises with Island Life tier |
| Islandpedia | Stamp and registration rewards | One-off but meaningful early |
| Multiplayer Shop (1.0) | Separate currency (Multiplayer Coins) | Not a gold source — see the multiplayer guide |
Stage 1 — first week
- Sell what you catch and grow, do every request, and register finds for stamp rewards.
- The coupon trick: Solara’s 80% coupon buys a 10,000g Intermediate layout for 2,000g; those layouts include four or five Beehives, and a 28-upvote Reddit thread reports dismantling them for 25,000g-plus. The expand farm guide covers placement.
- Cheap crafts sell surprisingly well: a Steam community guide notes a chair made from 3 Softwood Planks selling for 618g.
- Hoard Merchant Ship items — if the week’s list wants something you have in bulk, the 2× payout beats any shop.
Stage 2 — processing machines
The machines you can afford mid-game add value to raw goods; measured multipliers from the “Things Worth Noting” community guide:
| Machine | Value multiplier | Blueprint | Catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Juicer | ~1.1× | Aureleaf Kitchen, 550g | Fast; per-hour income is high for some recipes |
| Brew Barrel | 1.03–1.06× | — | Lowest return |
| Cooking | 1.1–1.5× | — | Needs ingredients from several systems |
| Jam Maker | 1.41–1.52× | Happiness Seed Shop, 1,200g (Junior Farmer) | Sugar is the bottleneck (3 per jam) |
| Pickling Jar | 1.85–2.78× | — | 15 hours per item; a Workpedia skill cuts it 35% to about 9h45m |
Sources disagree on which is best, because they measure different things. The jam/pickle camp cites multipliers; a juicer thread calculates Golden Lemonade at 24,485g per hour and Bayberry Smoothie at 30,119g per hour; a 120-upvote cooking thread argues the Separator chain is faster in practice (milk → mousse, strawberries → cake, otherwise veggie noodles, then nutribowl, with leftover sugar into braised pork belly, and fish into sauerkraut fish). Practical reading: Separator dishes for quick cash, jam and pickles for passive value while you are out, and many more machines rather than faster ones — machines cannot be sped up, only multiplied, and Early Access added a crafting queue. Sugarcane gives 5 Sugar per plant versus 1 from Beetroot, so grow sugarcane for jam. Machine recipes are on the machines page.
Stage 3 — the late-game setups
The bee field (500k+ per day). Both a German-language video with 15,700 views and a community-compiled farming page describe the same build: a 7×7 block with flowers on the outer ring, a 5×5 paddy field inside, and one or two Beehives in the middle holding 10–20 bumblebees. With the Intermediate Rancher skill Beelessings at max level, the bees’ two homecomings (around 13:00 and 19:00) rush crops to maturity, giving two harvests a day of King Water Chestnut or Zapweed (598g each, the highest-value crops; seeds 770g at Expert Farmer). The video author reports over 500,000g a day from four such fields; the community page’s version (10 hives, 10×9 paddy) lands near the same figure. Paddy fields need no watering; do not cut the flower ring. Field mechanics are on the farming guide.
Star Mango + Yield Fertilizer IV/V, jammed. One player reports 180 million gold this way and warns not to sell Golden or Silver Poop — they are a Yield Fertilizer V ingredient.
Black flowers sell at 417g each with no processing, and a player reports Immortal black-flower seeds selling for 5,950g. Colour chart on the farming guide.
Mining robots: 10 Robot Terminals and 60 Mining Robots parked in the last Moonlit Forest zones; a 999 stack of Aurorite or rare ore is worth about 30,000g, collected every two weeks. Robot Terminal needs Expert Crafter certification (25,000g) and each robot blueprint is 55,000g.
Honey at scale: 13 hives selling full honey stacks is reported as “crazy” income even at 35g per jar; Royal Jelly (Egg 1 + Honey 5 → 3 at the Feeder) sells higher.

Workpedia skills that change the maths
Skills named in player reports as money-relevant: Beelessings (Intermediate Rancher — bee homecoming growth burst), the pickling time reduction (35%), Hooked on Fate (sea fishing without fish shadows), Victory Siphon (Explorer — double treasure-map chests), Earth’s Bounty (Immortal seed drops from harvests), and the mining stamina refund. The Workpedia tree itself is covered on the quests and professions page.
Is there a money glitch?
Nothing that works today has a reliable source. What the official patch notes show is a list of exploits that were closed during Early Access: infinite use of the Starsand Scratch Card (0.2.1185) and of scratch cards from NPC dialogue (0.3.2537), feed farming from the Feeding Trough (0.3.3595), item and worker-bot duplication when re-placing houseboat blueprints (0.3.4631), repeat coin claims via the mail “Claim All” button after cancelling a commission (0.4.9467), and infinite loot from the chests in Gust, Ginger and Fang’s rooms (0.5.3241). Searches for “trainer” or “cheat engine” point to mod tooling, which the developer permits — see the mods guide. Unconfirmed as of August 23, 2026: any live duplication or coin glitch in Version 1.0.
How does the Merchant Ship work?
It appears after you finish the Starsand Port construction, posts a demand list that refreshes each Monday, and pays about double for listed goods in limited quantity. A whole section of the list is ranch goods — one player reports a single visit selling 60,000g of them.
What sells for the most?
Per item: King Glowfish at 1,607g. Per day, repeatable: the two 598g paddy crops under a bee boost. Per click with no setup: black flowers at 417g.
Jam, juice or pickles?
Pickles have the best multiplier but take 15 hours per item; juice is low-multiplier but very fast; jam sits between. Sources disagree on a winner, so choose by what you have: sugar for jam, time for pickles, lemons and star plums for juice.
