Pastelle Starsand Island: Gifts, Schedule & Romance

Pastelle runs the family ranch in Green Meadow with her father Garrick and little brother Bruce. She is the Ranching Mentor, so every livestock quest routes through her, and she is usually the first mentor players max out.

Daily routine

Rain or shine she is at the ranch most of the day. Only in winter does she take time off: knitting lessons at Ethereal Styles in the afternoon, then the plaza food stalls with Bruce. Use the Social app on the in-game phone (Locate / Follow) to pin her on the map; routes change with season and weather.

Gifts Pastelle loves, likes and hates

You can give each NPC one gift per day. The lists below come from the game’s data export cross-checked against two independent player-tested guides: items marked confirmed appear at the same tier in at least two sources; the rest are listed only in the data export. All of this was verified during Early Access (patches 0.3–0.7) and is being re-checked for 1.0 — if something has changed, use the contact page.

Gift theme: Animal feed — every feed type (including Love, Mega and Mirth variants) is Loved. The data export also lists hundreds of outfits as Loved, which community testers have not confirmed, so treat feed as the safe bet.

Loved (+15 affection)

The data export lists 893 Loved items for Pastelle — far too many to print; the theme above summarises them. Confirmed by two sources: Mega Sheep Feed, Rabbit Feed.

Liked (+10)

Confirmed: Red Sleep Lily, Moonflower, Twilight Succulent, Mirage Sunflower, Mirthshroom, Spirit Fruit, Midnight Herb, Fluffweave, Moondew Shroom, Light Blue Hydrangea, Pickled Cabbage, Pasture Grass, Wheat, Mountain Rice, Green Grape, Water Spinach, Cucumber, Rice, Baked Potato, Chilled Twilight Salad, Celeste Berry. The data export lists 202 Liked items in total (most common crops, cooked dishes and flowers).

Disliked (no gain; some sources report a loss)

Confirmed: Latiao, Premium Wood Plank, Bamboo, Softwood, Moorish Idol. Also in the data export (357 items total): Gmax Fertilizer V, Ripening Fertilizer III, Yield Fertilizer II, Ripening Fertilizer VI, Ripening Fertilizer I, Yield Fertilizer IV, Gmax Fertilizer III, Yield Fertilizer I, Yield Fertilizer III, Nutrient Soil IV…

Hated (no gain; some sources report a loss)

Confirmed: Yangzhou Fried Rice, Wishful Heart Cookies, Steamed Fish, Luminwing Butterfly, Glazed Cicada, Celeb Moth. Also in the data export (97 items total): Century Egg & Pork Congee, Sweet and Sour Pork, Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings, Cloud-Soft Toast, Prosperity Cake, Mysterious Dish, Seafood Wontons, Braised Pork Belly, Soup Dumplings, Shrimp & Fish Porridge…

Sugar painting

After a 2-heart photo together you can take the picture to the sugar-painting stall in town (100 gold) and hand Pastelle a “Sugar Painting – Pastelle”. Every NPC has a unique reaction to their own painting; reported affection gains range from 0 to +30 depending on the character. See the gifts guide for the full rundown.

Romance with Pastelle

Pastelle can be romanced by a player character of either gender. Affection runs on a five-heart scale (roughly 90 / 220 / 370 points for hearts 1–3, with 500 / 750 reported by players for hearts 4–5). Conversation (about 5 points a day), gifts, bulletin-board requests (15–30) and returning lost items (20) raise it; because Pastelle is a profession mentor, her profession quests add up to 50 points each, which is why mentors are the fastest romances. At three hearts you can enter her room (with a weekly blueprint chest) and, in 1.0, receive a Relationship Story; at five hearts a voiced invitation scene plays and the Move In option appears — the game has no wedding or children system, so cohabitation is the final step. Dating activities (picnic, arcade, kite-flying) were extended to all 14 romanceable NPCs in 1.0. Full mechanics: romance & marriage guide.
