Starsand Island PS5 Guide: Release, Price, Deluxe Bundle

Starsand Island is on PlayStation 5 as of August 18, 2026, launching day-and-date with the PC 1.0 version and the Xbox and Switch 2 ports. It is a PS5-only release — no PS4 listing exists — sold digitally on the PlayStation Store with a physical edition following later in the year. This page covers price and bundles, what the PS5 reviews said, how multiplayer works on PlayStation, the physical release, and how patches reach the console. The cross-platform picture is on the release date and platforms page.

Price, PS Plus discount and the Deluxe Bundle

The standard edition costs $39.99. PS Plus subscribers get 20% off — $31.99 — until September 14, 2026; non-members pay full price. That mirrors the launch discounts on Steam (until September 1) and the Nintendo eShop (until September 14).

The Deluxe Bundle is $59.99, promo-priced at $49.19 in the same window. It is the base game plus one paid DLC: the Classical furniture set, an elegant formal outfit set and the Pumpkin Carriage vehicle. On Steam the same content is sold separately as the “Classic European Furniture, Fashion & Vehicles DLC” for $19.99, so the Deluxe Bundle is simply the $20 add-on pre-attached. If you are unsure whether you want it, buying standard now and adding the DLC later costs the same.

The PlayStation Store also lists the free DLC packs that exist on Steam — the Chinese New Year furniture and fashion pack (unlocked through an in-game quest), the Ribbit Holiday swimsuit/pajama pack, and the Shining Star outfit set — at no charge. Details and unlock conditions are on the DLC and editions page.

What PS5 reviews said

Five outlets scored the PS5 version by August 23, 2026:

OutletScoreDate
Video Chums8.5/10August 17, 2026
Indigo GEEK75/100August 17, 2026
ComicBook70/100August 17, 2026
Push Square7/10August 18, 2026
Finger Guns50/100August 17, 2026

The spread is wide. ComicBook’s headline called it cute and cozy but still riddled with bugs; Finger Guns titled its review around “farming for framerates”, signalling performance complaints; Push Square and Video Chums were more positive about the life-sim loop itself. Metacritic’s aggregate is 70 for PS5 — two points above the PC version’s 68 — while OpenCritic’s cross-platform average is 75 with 60% of critics recommending. Our review page tracks these alongside Steam user scores.

Multiplayer on PS5

Version 1.0 introduced online co-op for up to four players. One player hosts their island; friends visit, farm, fish, explore and work on profession quests together, but each person keeps their own island save — progress does not merge. The host chooses an access mode (Anyone Can Join, Request to Join, or Password Required) and can grant or revoke guest access to crops, livestock, fishing, crafting and other resources at any time.

There is no crossplay. PS5 players can only play with other PS5 players; the developer says it is investigating cross-platform play but has nothing to announce. Whether PS Plus is required to join online sessions is unconfirmed as of August 23, 2026 — the store listing we reviewed does not state it. The full system, including the Multiplayer Shop and coins, is on the multiplayer guide.

Controller and features

Starsand Island’s PC build advertises DualSense controller support and full controller support on Steam, and a March 2026 patch specifically added controller vibration on the PS5 pad when harvesting fish. On the console itself, expect the same feature set as PC: four seasons, 15 interactable NPCs with 14 romance options, build mode, fishing, ranching, Moonlit Forest exploration, and the 1.0 additions (3-heart relationship stories, expanded dating, Autumn Pumpkin Festival). Trophy details for PS5 were not captured in our sources; the Steam achievement list (75 entries) is documented on the achievements page and is the closest reference.

Physical PS5 edition

Japan received boxed PS5 copies on August 20, 2026 for ¥7,018, with a limited white sports car as the early-purchase bonus and Game Source Entertainment handling retail. North America and Europe get a “Day 1 Edition” on November 12, 2026 at $39.99 / €39.99 / £34.99 (note the PS5 box is priced slightly below the Switch 2 box in Europe), with pre-orders open and an “Aetheris” supercar bonus. The Western publisher attribution comes from retailer listings only, so we mark it unconfirmed until release.

Patches on PS5

The developer’s August 17 post is explicit: PC updates ship first; console versions follow after each platform’s certification, and patch notes are posted for every update. Patch 1.08.3916 reached PC on August 20, 2026 — it fixed the multiplayer entrance failing to unlock after the “Smooth Sailing” quest, a stuck save-loading case, and about 17 other issues. No PS5 rollout date for that build had been published by August 23. Follow the patch notes page for console confirmation.

Is Starsand Island on PS5?

Yes. It launched digitally on the PlayStation Store on August 18, 2026, and a physical edition follows on November 12, 2026 in North America and Europe (August 20 in Japan).

Is there a PS4 version?

No. Every store listing and launch report names PlayStation 5 only.

How much is Starsand Island on PS5?

$39.99 standard, or $31.99 for PS Plus members until September 14, 2026. The Deluxe Bundle is $59.99 ($49.19 on promotion) and includes the Classical furniture/outfit/carriage DLC.

Is the PS5 version good?
